New ideas wall adds opportunity to share your thoughts and see what others are saying.
Killeen continues to solicit public input in the development of a new comprehensive plan. An online idea wall has been added to allow residents and stakeholders to post their thoughts and see what others are saying about key issues. Simply click on the topic of interest and leave comments or click like or dislike on comments left by others.
There is still time to take online Survey #2. Ten questions seek to establish collective values and a community vision. Participants are asked to rank the importance of certain values to determine which are most important to the community. They are also asked to look into the future to help determine the direction of the city.
An interactive map allows users to pinpoint general areas or specific locations by placing markers to indicate areas in need of improvement, protection, redevelopment and more. Once placed on the map, the marker will open a comment box where specific information can be added with text and photos.
Seven forums remain open asking you to join the conversation by submitting your comments on specific topics. Economic Development, Housing and Neighborhoods, Available Resources, Downtown, Land Use, Mobility and Quality of Life are each survey topics and are all important areas in a comprehensive plan. The forums are interactive environments where participants may leave comments, join conversations with others and share information through social media. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to take one or multiple surveys and to invite others to participate.
Everyone with a personal or business interest in Killeen is a stakeholder whose feedback is important to shaping the comprehensive plan. The input received is critical to establishing priorities for the investment of public resources to ultimately meet community-wide goals.
Community engagement will be solicited throughout the planning process using a variety of means including the website, meetings, focus groups and email. You can access all of the aforementioned tools and subscribe for updates at www.KilleenTexas.gov/CompPlan.
