KILLEEN, Texas (Oct. 22, 2025) – The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) has officially named Rodeo Killeen the 2025 Medium Rodeo of the Year, a prestigious honor chosen by the very cowgirls who compete in these events. This recognition underscores the dedication and passion of both the competitors and the Rodeo Killeen team, highlighting its commitment to excellence in the sport of rodeo.

The award will be presented during a special ceremony in Las Vegas on December 4, where the WPRA celebrates the achievements of women in professional rodeo. This honor not only recognizes the outstanding efforts put forth by Rodeo Killeen but also aims to elevate the event's profile in the rodeo circuit, attracting additional recognition, riders, and supporting organizations to the vibrant community of Killeen.

“We are incredibly proud of Rodeo Killeen to receive this award from the WPRA,” said Amanda Wilkinson, Director of the Killeen Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This recognition beautifully highlights the incredible dedication and passion of the Rodeo Killeen team for the sport. The City of Killeen has partnered with Rodeo Killeen for more than a decade and we look forward to continuing to grow and promote the sport while hosting exceptional events in the heart of Killeen.”

The WPRA's decision to award Rodeo Killeen reflects the collective voice of female athletes dedicated to the tradition and competitive nature of rodeo.
