Event is part of the Killeen Parks Master Plan process.
The public is invited to a Neighborhood Parks Open House Monday, March 22, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lions Club Park Senior Center, 1700 E. Stan Schlueter Loop. The event has no formal program, so the public may come and go when convenient.
The Open House is part of the new parks master plan development process. A series of information stations will be set up for the public to peruse, and there will be interactive activities to solicit input on a variety of park-related topics.
This event is designed to focus on underserved neighborhood parks. Those parks include AA Lane, Camacho, Fowler, Fox Creek, Hunt, Iduma, Lions Neighborhood, Maxdale, Phyllis and Stewart. Patrons of these parks are specifically encouraged to attend, but all are welcome.
Attendees can register to win one of two Family Aquatics Center family season passes.
The parks master plan will shape the future of recreation amenities and programs in our city. Public input is vital to the plan’s development. Stakeholders include residents, property owners, business owners, community organizations and others with an interest in Killeen parks, recreation facilities and recreation programs. Input from all parties is needed to create a collective community vision and establish priorities for the next five to 10 years.
A parks master plan website has been established to provide information about the plan, process and participation. Visit www.killeenparks.com for more information.
The City of Killeen selected Halff Associates, Inc. to develop the parks master plan.
