Mayor honors Officer Todd Shoemaker and his service to the community.
Mayor Jose Segarra has ordered the City of Killeen flag to half-staff Monday and Tuesday in honor and memory of Killeen Police Officer Todd Shoemaker.
Shoemaker joined Killeen Police Department in January 2006 following more than 20 years of service in the United States Army. In 2009, he became a K9 handler. He and his faithful Arco had been partners since 2013.
“The City of Killeen joins the Police Department in mourning the sudden passing of Officer Shoemaker and sends our prayers to the family,” said Mayor Jose Segarra. “I am lowering the Killeen Flag in honor of his dedicated service to our community and to show our respect and gratitude.”
Flags will return to full staff at sunrise Wednesday.
