City encourages families to make positive local impact.
Family Volunteer Day is Saturday, November 23, and your family is invited to volunteer for projects that will make a positive impact in our community. Participants will meet at Killeen Community Center at 8:30 a.m.
A number of local organizations have proposed projects such as supply collections, facility clean up and repair and holiday projects. Families can adopt specific projects to complete.
Family Volunteer Day is a program of Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. The day is marked annually as “a global day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods.” The local effort is organized by Killeen Youth Advisory Commission.
