City partners with Friends in Crisis to provide shelter from cold.
KILLEEN, Texas (Nov. 29, 2025) – The City of Killeen, in partnership with Friends in Crisis, will open a warming center tonight to provide shelter from the extreme cold.
The center will be open from 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, through 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Friends in Crisis, 412 E. Sprott St.
The warming center is available to all community members in need of shelter, including those without heat or experiencing power outages.
The City of Killeen opens warming centers when temperatures or wind chill factors are expected to fall to 32 degrees or below.
