Registration and project adoption open now.
Make a Difference Day is Saturday, October 27, when volunteers will give their time to complete projects that positively impact our community. Volunteer registration and project adoption are open now.
Dozens of projects have been proposed by organizations throughout Killeen and include beautification of public spaces, food and supply drives for the homeless and facility improvements for seniors and youth. The current list is available online, and additional project submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. October 19.
Make a Difference Day activities begin at 7 a.m. October 27 at Killeen Community Center when volunteers will meet to join with their teams and take a group photo. Teams will then spread out across the city to complete their projects before returning to the Community Center for lunch, certificates and prizes.
Killeen Volunteers, Inc. organizes the effort each year as a call to action for volunteerism. The group’s mission is to mobilize people and resources to address community needs and enhance quality of life through volunteerism. In addition to Make a Difference Day, KVI and its committees provide services and activities year round.
Volunteers may register for Make a Difference Day and adopt projects at killeentexas.gov/volunteer.
