Mayor Debbie Nash-King delivered her second State of the City address on Wednesday, February 13 at City Hall, addressing several big topics, including the decrease in crime in the city over the past two years.
The crime reduction highlights include:
- Stolen Property Crimes: -60% decrease
- Homicides and Murders: -47% decrease
- Robberies: -26% decrease
- Aggravated Assaults: -20% decrease
- Drugs and Narcotic Violations: -18% decrease
- Burglary and Breaking Entering: -10% decrease
Mayor Nash-King acknowledged Police Chief Pedro Lopez and the Killeen Police Department, a revitalization in downtown and a great community support in helping bring crime statistics down.
