KILLEEN, Texas (April 22, 2022) – The City of Killeen will participate in the annual National Arbor Day celebration by planting trees in our community on Friday, April 29. The event will take place at the Stonetree Golf Course (1600 Stonetree Drive) at 9a.m.
Volunteers are needed to join City of Killeen employees and beautify the community. Citizens and staff will be planting ten Mexican White Oak trees, which are very sturdy and grow well in this area. Mayor Debbie Nash-King will be presenting an official Arbor Day proclamation.
The City of Killeen has had a Tree City USA designation since 2007 for its ongoing commitment to protecting and planting trees.
Please register by Monday, April 25 by emailing Yvalderrama-Santana@KilleenTexas.gov. Those who are interested, can find more information on the City’s website at KilleenTexas.gov/Volunteer and KilleenTexas.gov/Rec.
