Applicants must be District 2 residents and must submit an application by March 18.
The Killeen City Council is accepting applications from Friday March 4, 2022 through Friday March 18, 2022, to fill an anticipated vacancy for District 2 councilmember seat.
The unexpired term for the District 2 seat runs through the May 2023 election.
Qualified applicants must be bona fide residents of District 2, must be US citizens at least 18 years old and must not have been convicted of a felony. They must have continuously lived in Texas for the previous 12 months, in District 2 for the previous six months, and be a registered voter.
Residents can verify what district they reside in using clicking the “District and Precinct Search” link at www.killeentexas.gov/election.
Applications are available in the City Secretary’s Office at City Hall, 101 N. College Street and online at www.killeentexas.gov/council. Completed applications can be returned in person to the City Secretary or emailed to laldrich@killeentexas.gov by 5 p.m. March 18.
The Mayor and City Council plan to interview candidates March 29.
