KILLEEN, Texas (Feb. 23, 2022) – The City of Killeen offices will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday due to incoming inclement weather.
Trash collection services will also have a two-hour delay. All routes will run this week, but some may experience delays.
The city delays will also impact our Recreation Services Department as follows:
Lions Club Park Senior Center
Thursday, February 24
10am – 4pm
-Any programming that is regularly scheduled before 10am will be canceled.
Family Recreation Center
Thursday, February 24
10am-10pm
Soccer games scheduled for Wednesday will be canceled.
The Daddy/Daughter Dance is still scheduled for Friday, Feb. 25, 6 to 9 p.m. at Killeen Civic and Conference Center. Tickets are limited and on sale now. Tickets are $50 per father-daughter couple and $20 per additional child and may be purchased at the Family Recreation Center or online at KilleenTexas.gov/REC.
As a reminder, the City of Killeen is opening Warming Centers tonight through Saturday morning.
The Rosa Hereford Community Center (2201 E Veterans Memorial Blvd.) is open tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. If no one is using the warming center by 11:30p.m., then it will close.
City staff is closely watching the system and we will continue to provide updates of any impact to city services on our website and social media outlets. As a reminder, all City of Killeen offices are delayed today. A decision on Friday’s status has not yet been made.
