[ARCHIVED] Citizens encouraged to apply for Board and Commission appointments

Applications due by August 19

KILLEEN, Texas (July 26, 2021) – The Killeen City Council will be making appointments to various city boards and commissions and citizens are encouraged to apply for consideration by Aug. 19.

Killeen residents have the opportunity to serve the community as members of boards and commissions, each with unique duties, memberships, qualifications and terms. Some boards meet regularly while some meet intermittently. 

Appointments are made each September for terms beginning Oct. 1. Applications not selected remain on file for consideration as vacancies occur.

Board positions include the Animal Advisory Committee, Arts Commission, Community Development Advisory Committee, Civil Service Commission, Heritage Preservation Board, Recreation Services Advisory and boards of appeal for airport, construction, fire and zoning.

A complete list of the 16 different boards and commissions with descriptions and a downloadable application are available at KilleenTexas.gov/Boards. Applications may also be obtained at City Hall or by email.

Completed applications are due to the City Secretary by August 19 but are accepted year-round in the following ways:
