KILLEEN, Texas (November 19, 2024) – The City of Killeen is inviting the community to participate in an Ultimate Baked Potato lunch Fundraiser for United Way of the Greater Tri-County Area’s 2024 campaign.
Residents can come by the Drive-thru Baked Potato Fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 22 from 11:30a.m – 1:30p.m. It will be held at the City Hall foyer. Those who choose the drive-thru option will pick up at the south parking lot behind the foyer.
Citizens can grab a fluffy baked potato with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon, salt and pepper sides, along with lemonade, for $5. They also have the option to add brisket and cookie to their tender baked potato meal for a total of $10. 100% of proceeds benefits the local United Way chapter.
The City of Killeen has been partnering with United Way for 23 years. Employees have held public and internal fundraisers, raising more than $200,000 for the organization over the last three years, and the City has been a platinum pacesetter supporter for several years.
United Way of the Greater Tri-County Area has addressed the health and human service needs in the Fort Cavazos area for decades. The organization has raised millions for the Fort Cavazos area, supporting 21 programs through member agencies.
This fundraiser will be a part of several that employees will host and businesses like Walmart (Stan Schlueter Loop location) have helped sponsor this year’s baked potato fundraiser for United Way.
Community members are encouraged to participate in the fundraiser and help support hundreds of individuals and families in need throughout Central Texas.
