The Spring Farmers Market showcases live music, local vendors and fun in Historic Downtown
KILLEEN, Texas (April 11, 2024) – The City of Killeen is excited for the return of the Spring Farmers Market to Historic Downtown at 200 East Avenue D. The Night Market will be featured for five Fridays, beginning April 12, and continuing on April 19, May 3, May 10 and May 17 from 6-9p.m.
The Killeen Farmers Market featured the first-ever “Night Market” in fall 2023, and will continue with the Spring Night Market, showcasing nearly two dozen of the best local artisans, craft brewers, local chefs, bakers, volleyball, cornhole, giant Connect Four games, a spring art project for all ages, sip and paint experiences and fresh, local produce as the season progresses and crops mature.
Multiple downtown businesses will also be participating each week, including Let’s Eat Texas, The Mint, Clutch, Alexanders Music Box, the Killeen E Center and Southern Roots Brewing Company.
It may get dark a little later, but there will still be twinkling lights, live music, signature cocktails and fun moments under the sunset. This will create the perfect opportunity for the Farmers Market Night Crawl, for patrons to visit and learn about those businesses.
Each week will offer unique treats, as a different downtown business hosts activities each week. First up— The Mint will host speed dating, which kicks off at from 7 - 8 p.m. Next Friday, April 19, Buenas Vibras will host belly dancing lessons from 6:30p.m. – 7:30p.m.
“We’re so happy to spotlight the heartbeat of our community, which are our local, small businesses,” Wendy Hartnett, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation said. “This second round of the Night Market is going to offer even more entertainment, flavor, activities and fun, as our residents get to learn more about what our great city has to offer.”
The Killeen community is asked to support the best Killeen makers, artists and growers at the Farmers Market.
The City of Killeen’s Parks and Recreation department and Downtown Killeen Revitalization division have partnered to bring the market back to downtown to live by the National Recreation and Parks Association’s saying-- “Farmers Markets grow community.” The City of Killeen looks forward to not only growing the opportunities we have to come together, but also growing the opportunities that are our locally owned businesses.
