KILLEEN, Texas (May 10, 2023) – Killeen’s Assistant City Manager, Danielle Singh has accepted a position as City Manager for the City of Jarrell, following four years with the City of Killeen.

“The decision to move on from this amazing city was an extremely difficult one, but I made this choice after weighing my priority to be closer to family,” Singh said. “I’ve learned so much in my time here and met so many ambitious citizens with great ideas. The citizens, the staff and the council are passionate about their service and I know I’m leaving it in good hands.”

Singh began in 2018 as the City Engineer. In 2019, she was promoted to serve as the Director of Public Works. After serving there, she interviewed to fill the Assistant City Manager position and was approved by a majority council vote in April 2021.

Singh helps oversee several of the 13 City departments, as well as advisory boards. Under her tenure, nearly $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding has been distributed to local businesses and nonprofits; About $15 million in COVID-19 related grants have been administered; the Homelessness and Mental Health Strategic Plan was adopted; a new Comprehensive Plan was adopted, etc.

The mission statement of the City Manager’s office is to build a high-performing organization to support a highly-effective city council. Singh has demonstrated success in instituting innovative approaches to maintain superior services for the residents. She has significant knowledge and understanding of the full spectrum of city operations and services. Singh has worked to unite departments and leaders with a shared sense of purpose, while promoting teamwork, fully articulating expectations and helping maintain a culture of accountability and transparency.

Singh’s last day will be May 23, 2023.

“The City of Killeen has an impressive list of staff members and Ms. Singh is no different,” Killeen City Manager Kent Cagle, said. “When I selected her, I knew she was well-qualified and the right person for the job. We wish we could keep her, but we understand her decision and we know she’ll have continued success.”
