KILLEEN, Texas (October 14, 2025) – The City of Killeen Parks & Recreation Department invites residents to disconnect from their devices and reconnect with each other during Unplug Texas Day, scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This technology-less event will take place at Lions Club Park, located at 1700 E. Stan Schlueter Loop, in Multipurpose Field 3.
Unplug Texas Day is designed to foster mental wellness and strengthen community connections by encouraging residents to engage in meaningful, real-life interactions. The City of Killeen Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to offer a complimentary yoga class during this event, welcoming participants of all skill levels—from beginners to advanced yoga enthusiasts.
Leading the yoga session will be Shauntelle Jaume, the owner and founder of Buenas Vibras Yoga and Self-Care Space, a vibrant and inclusive yoga studio in Killeen. Shauntelle brings a wealth of experience in yoga, meditation, and spiritual wellness to create a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere for all attendees.
"Yoga is not just about the poses; it's about connecting with ourselves and our community," said Kaitlyn Roberts, Recreation Manager for Killeen Parks & Recreation. "On Unplug Texas Day, let’s take a moment to breathe, stretch, and truly engage with one another outside the digital world.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to embrace community spirit and prioritize your mental well-being. Bring your mat, a friend, and a willingness to unplug for an hour of wellness and connection.
