City announces Election Day and post-Election plans

Early voting begins April 22 and the General Election is on May 3

KILLEEN, Texas (April 21, 2025) – Early voting for the City of Killeen’s general election will begin April 22, with election day being on May 3. Four district seats are on their respective ballot and one of the four is unopposed. Only voters who live in each district may vote for that district’s representative.

 

For a list of candidates, polling locations, sample ballots, notices, an interactive district map and other election items, please visit www.KilleenTexas.gov/Election. Residents are encouraged to use the district map to confirm in which district they reside.

 

Polls will be open from 7a.m. – 7p.m. on election day, May 3. Voters must vote at their designated precinct location on election day. 

 

Early voting for the City of Killeen general election is scheduled from April 22 – April 25 and April 28-29. Early voting times will be held 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day and from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. April 22 and April 29. Voters may use any of the following early voting locations to cast ballots for any district:

 

  • Killeen City Hall (101 North College Street)
  • Jackson Professional Learning Center (902 Rev. R A Abercrombie Drive)
  • Lions Club Park Senior Center (1700-B, East Stan Schlueter Loop)

 

On Election Day, May 3, early voting totals will be posted shortly after 7 p.m. and the unofficial final results (early voting and election day tabulation) will post as soon as possible on Saturday evening after polls close (on May 3). City Hall will not be open on May 3. Results will only be posted on the City’s election webpage Saturday night.

 

There will be a news alert sent to media, community partners and all citizens who are subscribed to the City of Killeen News Alerts once the unofficial tabulation is posted to www.KilleenTexas.gov/Election2025. For those who are not already signed up for alerts, they should subscribe to receive “City News” alerts at www.KilleenTexas.gov/NotifyMe.

 

The election webpage will also have a link to a livestream showing the early voting ballot board / central counting station in compliance with a new Texas Election Code, which requires counties/cities with a population over 100,000 to livestream and record all areas containing ballots from the time that the ballots are delivered to the early voting ballot board / central counting station, until the local canvass of election results on May 13.

 

On May 13, the results will be canvassed and an oath of office will be conducted, along with all standard ceremonial election practices.

www.KilleenTexas.gov. There is a prominent web banner and ‘Election 2025’ alert bar at the top of the page.

 

City of Killeen elections for city council district members are held in May of each odd year. Elections for mayor and city council at-large members are held in May of each even year.
