Killeen Secures Brew City Title for Second Consecutive Year

Designation awarded during Beer Month for local craftsmanship.

KILLEEN, Texas (October 1, 2025) – As Oktoberfest season kicks off around the globe, Killeen is proud to be recognized once again as a Texas Brew City and a Craft Beer Destination.

Launched in 2024 by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, the Brew City, Texas program aims to elevate Texas as a leader in craft beer and tourism. With the craft beer industry contributing $4.5 billion annually to our state's economy, local breweries are vital in fostering growth and community vibrance.

To earn the Craft Beer Destination title, cities must successfully retain local breweries and demonstrate strong government support through economic initiatives and marketing. Killeen has become a craft beer hub with local favorites like Southern Roots Brewing Company and Phantom Warrior Brewing Company.

“Being recognized as a Texas Brew City highlights the passion of our brewers and the supportive community around them,” said Kate Kizito, Killeen's Downtown Revitalization Director. “We invite everyone to celebrate this month with us and enjoy the exceptional craftsmanship our city offers.”
