City of Killeen Requests Voluntary Water Conservation

The City of Killeen is asking residents and businesses to voluntarily conserve water during the current cold weather period at the request of Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (WCID #1).

Due to reduced treatment capacity at the Belton Water Treatment Plant, water demand is increasing and some storage levels are beginning to decline. Residents are encouraged to conserve water where possible. Small actions—such as fixing leaks, reducing dripping faucets, and avoiding unnecessary water use—can make a difference.

The City will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
