They patrol neighborhoods and act as eyes and ears for the police department.

They are housewives, students, teachers, professionals, blue collar workers, working and retired people. The key word is people just like you!

3. How do you become a KCOP volunteer?

There is an application process, a background check, 8 hours of classroom training and at least one ride-a-long with a uniformed Killeen Police Officer.

4. What are KCOP volunteers not?

They are not vigilantes, they are not armed (concealed weapon permits and weapons are left at home!). They do not take action other than to observe and report immediately to the police department In short, they are not out to get revenge or make arrests. They are visible, effective and a deterrent to criminal activity.
