Applications due by August 18.
Killeen City Council will be making appointments to various city boards and commissions, and citizens are encouraged to apply for consideration by August 18.
Killeen residents have the opportunity to serve the community as members of boards and commissions, each with unique duties, memberships, qualifications and terms. Some boards meet regularly while some meet intermittently.
Appointments are made each September for terms beginning October 1. Applications not selected remain on file for consideration as vacancies occur.
The Recreation Services Advisory Board will be appointed for the first time. The seven members will review and make recommendations on issues like parks, recreation, trees and facilities.
Other boards include the Animal Advisory Committee, Arts Commission, Community Development Advisory Committee, Heritage Preservation Board and boards of appeal for airport, construction, fire and zoning.
A complete list of boards and commissions with descriptions and a downloadable application are available at KilleenTexas.gov/Boards. Applications may also be obtained at City Hall or by email.
