Employees raised more than $75,000 for the local United Way chapter in 2022

KILLEEN, Texas (November 9, 2023) – The City of Killeen is inviting the community to participate in a pancake fundraiser for United Way of the Greater Tri-County Area’s 2023 campaign.

Residents can come by the Drive-thru Short Stack Fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 17 from 7-9a.m. It will be held at the City Hall foyer. Those who choose to drive through will pick up at the south parking lot behind the foyer.

Citizens can grab a short stack of fresh, home-made fluffy, buttermilk pancakes for $5. They also have the option to add fruit and drink for a total of $10. 100% of proceeds benefits the local United Way chapter.

The City of Killeen has been partnering with United Way for 22 years. In 2022, employees raised more than $75,000 for the organization and the City has been a platinum pacesetter supporter for several years.

United Way of the Greater Tri-County Area has addressed the health and human service needs in the Fort Cavazos area for decades. The organization has raised millions for the Fort Cavazos area, supporting 21 programs through member agencies.

This fundraiser will be a part of several that employees will host and businesses like Walmart (Stan Schlueter Loop location) and McDonalds (1105 South Fort Hood Street location) have help sponsor the pancake fundraiser for United Way.

Community members are encouraged to participate in the fundraiser and help support hundreds of individuals and families in need throughout Central Texas. For more information on the local United Way chapter, visit
