City of Killeen launches re-design of website

New Website Design_Square

New site offers convenient resident access to self service features and is more mobile-responsive

KILLEEN, Texas (April 10, 2023) – The City of Killeen is launching a new and improved website on Friday, April 14. The www.KilleenTexas.gov website will be more mobile friendly and highly functional, as well as incorporate a more modern and sleek design.

The City uses CivicPlus for web services and the content management system will allow the City of Killeen municipality to accomplish several goals, including easier navigation, increasing resident engagement, offering more dynamic content and more timely news, improving administrative efficiencies and being more mobile-responsive.

“The City of Killeen is looking forward to residents seeing the improved design as we work to champion innovative solutions for web mobility to ensure our website functions efficiently for our citizens,” said Janell Lewis Ford, Executive Director of Communications. “We will always seek out ways to strengthen and transform how we communicate with our community.”

All current features will still be available, as the site is not losing any current capabilities, only gaining easier functionality through a set of robust features and a well-designed layout.

Citizen-favorite features, like the alerts, notifications and Killeen Connect will still be available. Residents can continue to sign up to receive notifications on street closures, events, meetings, boil water notices, etc. at www.KilleenTexas.gov/NotifyMe (also www.KilleenTexas.gov/AlertCenter). Residents can also download the Killeen Connect App in any mobile store or go to www.KilleenTexas.gov/KilleenConnect to report anything from a pothole to a traffic light or loose animal that may need fixing.

The new site placed more of a focus on the top ten-visited webpages accessed by our residents. The new website redesign will be a tool that will continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the community.
