The first-of-its-kind event in the city will be on display Sept. 17-18
KILLEEN, Texas (Sept. 12, 2022) – The City of Killeen and the Killeen Convention and Visitor’s Bureau are proud to bring “Bricks Killeen” back for a second year. The popular LEGO event will be at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center on Sept. 17-18.
More than four dozen exhibitors from all across the state will have their extravagant creations on display. This year, we have a big floor mosaic of that the public will put together for us. For a $3 donation to Fairy Bricks, 60 people or families will get a large LEGO baseplate (32 studs x 32 studs), a pattern and the necessary bricks to create the mosaic pattern. The 60 baseplates will be put together to spell out our event’s name with a camo pattern around it.
The Texas Brick Railroad returns this year and they will be setting up a 100’ x 30’ display with multiple LEGO trains zipping around the rails.
Bricks Killeen is a free event sponsored by the Killeen Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as Texas LEGO Users Group, which has chapters in Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio.
Texas Lego Users Group has partnered with Fairy Bricks to help supply LEGO sets to hospitalized children, including McLane’s Children Hospital in Temple.
“We deeply appreciate the sponsor of the Killeen Convention & Visitors Bureau and are excited to be bringing our event back to Killeen again this year,” said Killeen’s Director of Library Services Deanna Frazee, who organized the event. “We were had a great time last year and know that this year will be even better.”
