Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Plan
The City of Killeen, owner of the Killeen - Fort Hood Regional Airport (GRK), has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 49 CFR Part 26. The City of Killeen Department of Aviation has received Federal financial assistance from the Department of Transportation, and as a condition of receiving this assistance, the City of Killeen Department of Aviation has signed an assurance that it will comply with 49 CFR Part 26. Near or far, business or pleasure, the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport (GRK) makes flying easier. KFHRA is centrally located in the heart of Texas – adjacent to Fort Cavazos – and offers direct, non-stop air service, with connecting flights through Dallas/Fort Worth, serving both civilian and military passengers.
For most of Central Texas, the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport is conveniently located just down the road. The Airport is easily accessible from IH 14 (Hwy 190), SH 195, and SH 201. Many four-lane highways also make travel to/from Georgetown, Round Rock, Burnet, Marble Falls, San Saba, Lampasas, Kempner, Gatesville, Salado, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, and Waco relatively simple and worry-free.
The state-of-the art facility offers a comfortable setting for travelers that includes restaurants, a gift shop and car rental agencies. Ground transportation is available to Fort Cavazos and the surrounding communities as well as numerous lodging and dining facilities located just minutes away in Killeen and the surrounding cities. This state-of-the-art facility is the first to feature glass walled aircraft boarding bridges in the United States. The bridges aesthetically complement the facility, leaving the passengers with an unobstructed view of the airfield and a one-of-a-kind experience.
Airlines Information
Passengers can fly to any destination worldwide from the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport (KFHRA). Currently, there is one (1) airline carrier servicing KFHRA – American Airlines. American’s hub is Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW).
For domestic flights, passengers need to arrive at the Airport one-and-a-half hours (1½) hours prior to their departure time. For international flights, passengers need to arrive at the airport two (2) hours prior to departure time.
The airlines close their flights for check-in/boarding 45 minutes prior to the departure time.
Flights closing 45 minutes prior to departure time allows TSA to perform passenger screening, screen passenger’s luggage and goods, ensure the airlines meet its weight requirements for flight, and for the aircrew to complete pre-boarding documentation.
