Parks and Recreation Volunteer Opportunities
Join the team and volunteer with the City of Killeen Parks and Recreation Department. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for ages 16 and up through our Parks and Recreation Department, including our Parks division, Senior Centers. For those 4th grade – 12th grade, we offer volunteer opportunities though the Youth Advisory Commission (YAC) and Jr. Youth Advisory Commission (Jr. YAC).
Downtown Killeen has many opportunities to get involved and help make Downtown Killeen a great place to explore! The City invites volunteers to serve in one-time event assignments and longer-term, ongoing opportunities. To start your journey apply for the Independence Day Extravaganza, Touchdown in Downtown, Holiday Under the Stars: Tree Lighting, Holiday Under the Stars: Festival of Holiday and Christmas Parade, and Downtown Blitz cleanup.
Animal Services accepts volunteers with all levels of skill and ability to help with the animals. Volunteers can help groom/bath dogs, clean living spaces, fold and wash dishes, litter boxes, laundry, greet visitors, take photos, assist as a handler, greeter and adoption assistant. The first step starts by filling out a Volunteer Application.
