Road Restriping Next Week

Three city streets will receive fresh striping Monday and Tuesday. Motorists can expect intermittent delays along:

      Twin Creek Drive, from Rancier Avenue to Veterans Memorial Boulevard
      Westcliff Road, from W.S. Young Drive to Rancier Avenue
      Rancier Avenue, from Fort Hood Road to Twin Creek Drive

Crews will return Friday to install reflectors on the new striping.

Overnight Road Work at W.S. Young Intersection

Overnight road work at the intersection of W.S. Young Drive and Lake Road is scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Partial road closures will be required to complete the work, but the intersection will be reopened during the day.

Crews will be removing faded pavement markings with a milling machine and applying new thermoplastic road markings.

A series of traffic control devices will guide motorists around the work zone, but use of alternate routes is encouraged.

Closure at Avenue D and 8th Street begins Monday

The intersection of Avenue D and 8th Street will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, January 7, 2013.

Traffic will be rerouted during this time. Motorists should exercise caution while in the area and plan alternate routes if possible.

This closure is for the Downtown Streetscaping Project.

New detours for Bunny Trail

Bunny Trail, from Cottonpatch Drive to 300 feet north of John Helen Drive, will be closed for construction beginning Monday, February 11, 2013. A series of detours will be in place for the duration of the project scheduled for completion in February 2014.

Motorists should follow detour routes and exercise caution while in the area. Click here for a detour map

This closure is for phase II of the Bunny Trail Widening Project, which involves the reconstruction of Bunny Trail from Cottonpatch Drive to Stan Schlueter Loop. The project will widen the existing rural roadway by adding a continuous center turn lane, urban curb and gutter, and improved storm drain system.

Road Work on Avenues C and D

Crews begin performing road work beginning today on the following streets:

Avenue C, from Fort Hood Road to Root Avenue
Avenue D, from Fort Hood Road to Washington Street

Work will be performed weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through June 17.

Traffic will be routed around the work zone during this time. Motorists should exercise caution while in the area and plan alternate routes if possible.

Crews will be replacing asphalt and repairing concrete curbs and gutters to improve stormwater drainage.
