Killeen Public Libraries are offering an amnesty period to patrons with overdue materials. Through November 30, overdue fees will be waived with the donation of a pet product to benefit the Killeen Animal Shelter.
Overdue items must be returned in person to either library location. Participants must present a library card or other identification to verify an account along with one or more pet items, which can include unopened pet food, metal food bowls, liquid dish soap or unused paper towels.
Amnesty extends to patrons with overdue fees on their accounts from previously returned items. These patrons must visit either library location in person, present identification and donate a pet item to have overdue charges removed.
Amnesty does not apply to lost or damaged materials. Those items must be paid for in full.
