The City of Killeen Housing Renewal Program assists elderly, disabled, and low to moderate income residents by providing minor home repairs and handicap modifications for qualified applicants.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Block Grant Program, the program helps preserve the city’s affordable housing by partnering with local businesses, suppliers, and contractors to provide needed repairs or rehabilitation to single-family residential homes. Projects may include improvements to heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems, carpentry, insulation, flooring, walls, roofing, and more.
To participate in the Housing Renewal Program, residents must submit an application including documentation of income, assets, and five years’ ownership and occupancy. Households are assisted in the order in which applications are received.
For more information or to obtain an application, visit the Community Development offices at 802 2nd Street, Building E or call (254) 501-7844.
